... Just thinking about ya
... I don’t know what to do
... I think I’m fallin’ for you
"Fallin For You"
Colbie Caillat
I realized that the majority of my pictures taken from Okinawa are of the beaches. I have about 100+ photos of them. And even though they all look the same, I still can't get myself to delete any of them. This one was taken right outside my hotel.
We also visited the Okinawa Peace Memorial Museum. The last battle of World War II took place in Okinawa. It lasted for 90 days. "A significant aspect of the Battle of Okinawa was the great loss of civilian life. At more than 100,000 civilian losses far outnumbered the military death toll. Some were blown apart by shells, some finding themselves in a hopeless situation were driven to suicide, some died of starvation, some succumbed to malaria, while other fell victim to the retreating Japanese troops. Under the most desperate and unimaginable circumstances, Okinawans directly experienced the absurdity of war and atrocities it inevitably brings about" (OPMM website).
There is a Room of War Testimony inside the museum where war survivors written testimony's are kept. They contain stories about what people experienced during the war. There were two books translated in English and the one I read, I will never forget.
We also stopped by the Shuri Castle, which was more like a fort than an actual castle.
And finally... the aquarium we visited at the Ocean Expo Park. It was huge!
and that summarizes my four day trip to Okinawa =D
who's got your money now...
Currently listening to Tina Parol's "Who's got your money." Kinda stuck in my head. It's pretty catchy. I wish I had that money so I could travel more. I haven't even been to Europe yet, but it's next on my list as well as Australia.
Anyway I wanted to post up my favorite pictures from all the places I've been to during the last four months. I'll probably split this up into two sections. I'm still in the process of organizing all the photos that I've taken while I was abroad. I know I'm really dorky but I really liked my mailbox. Don't ask me why. I locked it on accident the first day and never got it to open again.
The hanami season in Japan was really beautiful. I went to the American Base in the Kanagawa Prefecture as well as the Kudanshita Park to see the Hanami. Camp Zama was opened up to the public so that people could come and enjoy the beautiful Cherry Blossoms. They bloomed late this year because of the cold weather. The third picture is from Kudanshita Park.

We then had a week long vacation a few weeks later because of Golden Week. I took the opportunity to travel to Korea since I had never been there before. I met up with Melissa and Hana, and toured several of the palaces in Seoul. These were taken at the Changdeokgung Palace.

Melissa took me to a Folk Village somewhere in the city which was supposed to show visitors how people in the past lived. The fun part of the trip was when we both tried on hanboks.

And because my camera takes very bad night shots, I was unable to take good pictures at the Cheonggyecheon Stream. We had missed the Lotus Festival of Lanterns by a few days days,, but luckily the decorations from the event were still up.

Part II... for later....

Back Home =D
Due to my busy schedule in Japan and in the Philippines I wasn't able to update like I wanted. My last two weeks in Japan were so hectic with final papers, Japanese language exams, hanging out with Teresa and meeting up with Hannah and Mao; as well as packing made it really impossible for me to do anything else. Teresa was only in Japan for about four days so we really had to make each day count and see as much of the city as we could. I also took her to meet up with some of my friends at a Mexican restaurant in Chiba. The food was so so.. really small portions for the price we paid. But it was a lot of fun =D
Then after she left, Hannah from Theta Chapter came to Tokyo. I met up with her in Shinjuku and Shibuya for lunch and some nomihodai =D Actually my last night in Tokyo was spent with her at this Izakaya in Shibuya drinking as much as we could for two hours. Fun night!! I also forgot to mention that I met up with Jeana and Terui a few times while I was in Japan. We usually met up for dinner or lunch.

Will post up pictures later =D Although most are already up on facebook.. but not all =P...
