1st week in Japan
I have been in Japan for less than a week and everything is just so hectic. Learning the train schedule and what stop to get off at and transfer, how to get to the Kanda University from my dormitory, and a lot of other very important information. First of all, like I had previously mentioned, my dormitory is pretty far away from the actual campus itself. I kind of lucked out though because the other dormitories are further away. So far I have a ridiculous amount of blisters on both of my feet ( I know its over share right?) from all the walking that I have been doing. So just a quick recap of the past week, I should have update earlier.

1. Arrived in Narita on Wednesday and stayed at the OVTA (Which is an overseas training facility) at Makuhari for Orientation.

2. Thursday - had Academic Orientation sessions where course descriptions were given out and add / drop procedures and all of that other stuff were covered. Then we had a tour of Makuhari and the IES Tokyo Center. That night we were shown how to get to our dorms using the public transportation system. There is a girl named Michelle who's been in Japan for a semester and who lives in the same building as me that showed me how to get to the dorms. There's a little bit of a sketchy dark area, but the rest is pretty decent. We live by another college and a hospital as well. I live on the first floor of the building and I have a balcony, but it's pretty useless since I'm ground level.

I had a meeting with the building manager.. which didn't turn out so well. She did not speak English at all and my Japanese.. well sucks. Michelle had to help me out a lot.

3. Friday - went out to Akihabara to meet some fellow IES students at an English Pub. It was pretty nice and after we walked around for a bit.

4. Saturday - Went to Tsudanuma in the morning to go window shopping then ate lunch. At night we went to a club in Shibuya called Pure, which was an all you can drink place. Very interesting night. The big crosswalk that they show in Tokyo Drift is in Shibuya, and I took a pic =D I wanted to take one from a second floor of some building but that didn't work out so well.. so it's just eye level. Kinda reminds me of Times Square.

5. Sunday - passed out.

6. Monday - Kanda University tours and then after we went to Chiba for dinner.

This week I plan on going to see the Cherry Blossoms (Sakura) in downtown Tokyo. These should be really pretty =D

Finally
My long winter break is coming to an end. In less than a week I will be flying off to Japan to start my senior Spring semester. I will be living in the KUIS International Dormitory, which is "expressly for female students." The total travel time to / from the campus is 45 mins, which includes a 35 minute walk and a 10 min bus or train ride. I HOPE my earliest class starts at noon.. I really really really hope.
